
Alamo Rental Terms and ConditionsThe below T&Cs (including prices and taxes) are provided by Alamo and may change without notice to Vroom Vroom Vroom. Insurances:DLW – Damage Liability WaiverDamage Liability Waiver limits the customer’s financial responsibility for losses or damage to the vehicle. The maximum excess that is payable in the event of a collision is £650.Third Party Insurance (TPI)Third Party Insurance is compulsory under UK law and is included in your rental charge. Our Third Party Insurance insures against unlimited liability for death or bodily injury, and for damage to other peoples property up to a limit of GBP 25m.Theft Liability Waiver (TLW):If purchased TLW will reduce liability in the event of theft of the vehicle from the full value of the vehicle down to the amount shown in the grid below. (overseas inbound only). Price of TLW is GBP 6.50 per day, inclusive of Tax @ 17.5%. NOTE: PURCHASE OF TLW DOES NOT WAIVE THE DAMAGE EXCESS. The maximum excess paid by the customer in the event of the vehicle being stolen is £650.MastercoverIf purchased reduces customers financial responsibility for losses or damage to sum of the deductible: The maximum excess that is payable in the event of a collision is £300.Mastercover Plus (MCP):If purchased reduces customers financial responsibility for losses or damage to the vehicle to zero. MCP includes Windscreen and Tyres cover, Theft and replacement car. The maximum cost per day for Mastercover Plus is £17.00 inclusive of tax.Windscreen and Tyres (WTW):If purchased reduces excess for any damage to Windscreen (and any other window glass) or Tyres to zero. Price of WTW is GBP 3.00 per day, Inclusive of Tax @ 17.5%.Personal Accident Insurance (PAI):If purchased provides coverage for baggage and personal effects, medical expenses, personal accidents and emergency travel. Price GBP 5.95 per day, inclusive of Tax @ 17.5%.Additional DriversThere is no maximum charge. Additional drivers must be over 21. All additional drivers must meet the age and license requirements set out below.Age requirementsMinimum rental age is 25 years for car groups Standard and Fullsize, 23 for car groups, compact and intermediate21 years for car groups Mini and Economy. A young drivers surcharge applies as follows: 21-22 years GBP 14.00 per day plus VAT, 23-24 years GBP 9.95 per day plus VAT. There is no maximum charge. There is no upper age limit except at Pembroke, and Carmarthen where the age limit is 75 years. Plymouth, Exeter, Newquay Taunton, , Wigan, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich the upper age limit is 70 years. Wigan has a minimum age requirement of 25. Cross Border PolicyVehicles may be taken abroad at a charge of GBP 18.00 per day plus VAT (This charge does not apply to vehicles going to the Republic of Ireland.). Renters will additionally be required to purchase breakdown cover at a cost of GBP 50.00 including VAT. Written permission is required to take any vehicle outside of the UK. This should be obtained from the renting branch at commencement of rental. Countries which you are allowed to travel to are:All EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Gibraltar, Andorra, and San Marino. Cars may not be driven into any outside those listed above. Driving License requirementsAll renter’s and authorised drivers are required to present, and hold in their name, a full drivers licence, that has been valid for at least one year at the commencement of the rental.Visitors to the UK: All visitors to the UK must present a full valid license. Licences issued overseas must be clearly identifiable as a driving licence, otherwise an International Driving Licence will be required. A passport must also be produced if not a UK resident. UK Residents: Holders of the UK photo card license must also present the paper counterpart at start of rental. Endorsements are only shown on the paper counterpart so customers MUST produce both documents. Holders of the old style UK paper license must also produce photo ID at the start of rental in the form of a Full Valid Passport, Armed Forces ID Card or a Police Warrant Card. No other form of photo ID is acceptable. UK residents that hold a non-EU licence may drive in the UK for up to 12 months from the time you become resident. After 12 months your overseas licence will be deemed illegal in the UK and it must be exchanged for the UK equivalent. UK residents that hold a non-UK EU licence, your License is valid until the age of 70 or for 3 years after becoming a UK resident – whichever is longest. A renter holding a non-UK EU license must produce a full valid passport at time of rental. Holders of any license that does not show the current address must also produce proof of current address in the form of a Current Credit Finance Agreement, Current Utilities Bill, or Current Bank Statement. All car rental companies at Stansted require a finger print to be taken. Wigan, Plymouth, Exeter, Newquay, Taunton, Pembroke and Carmarthen all have different elegibility requirements. Please contact the branch directly for enquiries. One Way rentalsOne-way car rentals are permitted within Mainland UK but are subject to a variable drop charge. The drop charge is calculated dependant upon Pick up/Drop-off location and may vary by vehicle, this is payable at the rental counter. One-ways between Mainland U.K. and Northern Ireland are not permitted. One-ways are not permitted between the UK and the Republic of Ireland.One-way rentals are permitted from any Northern Ireland location to the following locations in the Republic of Ireland and are subject to additional charges. Out of Hours PolicyAll Out of Hours reservations are on request and only available at In-terminal airport locations and are subject to a charge. There is no Out of Hours service available at downtown locations, who will only accept bookings for during office working hours.Payment PolicyAll major Credit and Debit cards (including Maestro, Solo and Electron Debit cards) are accepted locally as a method of payment.The Credit or Debit card used must be in the lead drivers name when presented locally for full payment or when it is used for the deposit. Cash and Cheques (with a valid Cheque Guarnatee Card) are also accepted locally as methods of payment. Cheques are acceptable in GBP sterling only. UK residents that wish to pay a Cash deposit will be subject to credit check by Equifax and will need to produce additional ID. The Equifax office is only open Mon - Fri 07.30 - 21.00, Sat 08.00 - 16.00 and Sunday 10.00 - 14.00 (Sunday Airports only). Payment by Cash and Maestro Debit Card are not permitted outside of these times. Inbound renters will need to produce their passport, dated return flight ticket and some other proof of their home address if paying by cash. Non-UK resident renting in the UK paying by cash will need to produce their passport, dated return flight ticket and full driving licence that meets the criteria set out in the Licence requirements section. Cash renters cannot expect to receive a refund of their deposits in cash. The refund will probably take the form of a Sterling cheque which will posted to their home address. DepositsThe main driver will be asked to pay locally for the following deposits:1) The fuel prepayment GBP 70.00 2) The DLW deductible/excess - up to GBP 650. Please ensure you have sufficient funds available to cover the cost of the rental and deposits. We will not be responsible for any bank charges that you may incur. There are optional products available to purchase locally at the start of the rental that can reduce the amount of your damage excess deposit. Please note that any unused rental days on prepaid reservations are non-refundable. Emergency Roadside AssistanceIn case of breakdown or accidents, emergency telephone numbers can be found on the vehicle tax disc and key fob. Cover is provided through the AA, RAC or other provider, dependent on the vehicle manufacturer.Customers should call the emergency number shown on their vehicle. Coverage is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Dependent on the circumstances, we reserve the right not to replace the vehicle. Pay Locally Surcharges and FeesChild seatsChild/Infant seats (suitable for ages 9 months to 4 years old) are available to rent for a fee. A security deposit of GBP 50.00 is required for each seatThe new law requires that children up to their 12th birthday or 135 cms/ 4’ 5” in height (whichever is attained sooner) must be restrained in a suitable seat in the rear of the vehicle Child seats are on request only and availability cannot be guaranteed. Customers will be required to fit the child seat themselves. FuelAll vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and it is the customer's responsibility to return the vehicle full or pay for any missing fuel at the end of rental. On rentals of 5 days or longer we will automatically add the cost of a full tank of fuel to our rental charges at time of pick up. This method eliminates the need for you to refuel the tank prior to returning. The fuel amount charged at time of rental will be based on a market competitive price and the car model rented. We are unable to issue a refund for unused fuel. A fuel deposit will not be required for rentals of 5 days or longer. For rentals of 1 to 4 days a fuel purchase option is available. A vehicle license fee is also payableCongestion chargesCongestion Charge is applicable in Central London, The charge is payable daily Monday to Friday for each day that a vehicle moves within the zone. No charge is payable for vehicles if they are parked for a full day(s) within the zone. The daily charge is GBP 8.00 if paid by 22.00hrs on day of travel and is payable either by phone, on the Internet or at selected retail outlets within the zone. There is a fixed penalty system that will issue fines of GBP 100.00 per day for non-payment.Marble Arch and Bayswater are the only Alamo locations which falls into the Central London zone. If you pick up car from Marble Arch and Bayswater between Monday to Friday (07.00-18.30) inclusive, Alamo will offer to add the first day's Congestion Charge fee to the rental agreement for their convenience. You will then be responsible for paying the daily charge for all subsequent days (Saturday, Sunday and public holidays are exempt). For a customer picking up a car from Marble Arch on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday no Congestion Charge fee will be added to the rental agreement for that first day. They will then be responsible for paying the fee for all subsequent chargeable days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and public holidays). Note: all charges are subject to change. Taxes17.50%Cancellation ChargesWe will not charge for reservations cancelled 7 days or more before your pick up time. If you cancel your booking after this time, the following charges apply:• If you cancel your booking less than 7 days before pick up time, you will be charged either the full cost of your booking or up to a maximum of £20 whichever is the lesser. • If you cancel your booking less than 24 hours before your pick up time, you will be charged either the full cost of your booking or up to a maximum of £50, whichever is the lesser. In the event of a cancellation, your credit card will be refunded, less the above charge. Unused Rental DaysPlease note that any unused rental days on prepaid reservations are non-refundable. |
