General rental conditionsRenters and additional drivers must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 12 months. Avis normally accept up to 6 points on minor traffic offences such as speeding. If you have more than 6 penalty points please check with our call centre/rental location for more information. If you hold a valid Community licence and you are visiting Great Britain, you can drive any vehicle for as long as your licence remains valid. The appropriate full entitlement for the vehicle you wish to drive must be shown on your licence. Please visit the DVLA for more information. New 2 part UK Licences - Customers must present both parts of the new two part UK Drivers Licence at time of rental. If just the photo ID part of the driving licence is shown then Avis will charge £5.00 to contact the DVLA to ensure that customer is entitled to drive. This service is subject to DVLA opening hours. An international driving licence is also required if the renter or additional drivers’ licence is non-roman alphabet.Age RestrictionsFor rentals within the UK, drivers paying by cash or credit card, must be aged 23 or over and those under 25 will be subject to a Young Driver Surcharge of £11 per day (plus VAT) for the first 10 days of the rental. For corporate account rentals, please refer to your contract for minimum age requirements.Credit CardsCredit card details will be taken at time of rental. A credit card from a major credit card company will be required for security when renting a car and will need to be in the name of the principal driver. We are unable to accept Electron or Debit Cards.General Insurance ConditionsVehicle Damage CoverIf the rental car is damaged, you will be covered for the cost of repairing the Avis vehicle. You will, however, have to pay an excess charge towards the cost of repair. This can be from £650 in the UK (excess levels vary by country). This applies regardless of fault Theft Cover Covers you for the cost of replacing the Avis vehicle (or parts of it) if it gets stolen. If the vehicle, or parts of it, is stolen you will have to pay an excess charge towards the replacement cost. This can be from £650 in the UK Premier Cover Prices vary by car size. Cover starts from £11.95 per day to a maximum of £15.95 per day. This is charged for the first 7 days of the rental only. Premier Cover is available for purchase at the rental station when collecting your car. Reduces your excess to £100, FREE Additional Driver Personal Accident Insurance Personal accident - a maximum of £42,000 per insured person in the event of death, loss of limbs or eyes or permanent total disablement. Medical expenses incurred due to an accident -a maximum of £2,100 per insured person. Unlimited assistance and rescue costs. This cover is available at £4.75 per day . Additional driversThe rental vehicle is normally only insured for the person who makes the rental. If others plan to drive the car, they must be present at time of rental to be added to the Rental Agreement , subject to presenting a full driver's licence that has been held for at least one year. There is a fee to cover insurance for each additional driver over the duration of the rental.Airport and city surchargesIf you are renting your car from an airport or city location, you may be charged an Airport/City surcharge. Where city supplements apply, and at airports, this is a flat fee of £17 + VAT. Your internet quote will include this figure. For customers with a corporate agreement, the surcharge is 13% of time and mileage, and this will be included in the rate.Additional equipmentGPS is available at £9.99 per day capped at 7 days.Baby seat For children 0 - 13kgs (Birth to approx 1 - 12 months) £23.50 per rental Infant seat For children 9 - 18Kgs (Approx 9 months - 4 years) £23.50 per rental Child seat For children 15 - 36Kgs (Approx 4 - 11 years) £23.50 per rental Booster seat For children 15 - 36Kgs (Approx 4 - 11 years) £5.88 per rental FuelAll rental cars are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refuelled prior to return to Avis, otherwise fuelling charges apply. Alternatively, you may purchase your fuel in advance. Please ask at the Avis rental desk for details of the Pre-Paid Fuel Option. Prices exclude VAT. Prices correct at time of publishing - please confirm with your local Avis location. Preferred card ProfilesIf you indicate on your Wizard/Preferred profile that you will accept specific additional optional insurances when you pick up your car, these will be processed at time of rental and are not included in this price unless indicated by the inclusions shown Other Fees and TaxesVAT17,5%All rates are inclusive of VAT.
