Located 10 miles south of the M25 on the M23, Gatwick is very close to Croydon. When leaving the airport in your Gatwick Airport rental car, you may need to use the M25 ring motorway to some tourist dentinations. You need to be careful of traffic on the southern part of the M25 as it can be heavy at times. But in terms of accessibility to the West and East of London, there is no better road or motorway to take. If you are going South to places like Hastings and Brighton, you can avoid the M25 by going South on the M23 and crossing over to the M21 further south. When using Gatwick Airport, the only tricky part is knowing whether you are landing in the South or North Terminal. If you are arriving in the UK and need to go into London, the easiest and fastest option is to take the train or a bus. You can take the normal train or the Gatwick express. The Gatwick Express is a little more expensive than the normal train but, as it says on the label, it doesn’t make any stops. All trains go into Victoria Station which has a wonderful set of shops, restaurants and access to the London Underground.
