The below T&Cs (including prices and taxes) are provided by Alamo and may change without notice to Vroom Vroom Vroom.

These terms and conditions are applicable to Avis rentals in the UK ONLY.

This quote will include:

• Selected vehicle or similar
• Unlimited Kilometers unless otherwise stated
• Damage Liability Waiver
• Theft Liability Waiver
• Vehicle Licensing fee
• VAT
• Premium Location Surcharge

This quote will not include:

• Collision Damage Waiver
• Excess Reduction. Please see our Excess Reduction Guide for further details.
• Personal Accident Insurance
• Rates for additional drivers
• Any extra equipment such as GPS and baby seats*
• Age surcharge
• Petrol
• One way drop off fees
• Any Deposits needed when picking up the vehicle

• Any extra charges for "out of hours" pick up and drop offs if applicable

* All extra add-ons will attract additional percentage taxes and surcharges.

General rental conditions:

• The renter must have a valid driving licence held for a minimum of 1 year.
• The renter must meet the minimum/maximum age requirements
• If intending to pay by cash, the renter must have a return airline ticket (excluding UK), a verifiable home phone number in the name of the renter, proof of employment and must provide a cash deposit in addition to prepaying all rental charges
• All car rental companies at Stansted Airport require a finger print to be taken.

In the UK a secondary form of identification is required. Accepted forms if identification are:-

• Passport
• Alternative credit or debit card
• Building Society Deposit Book/Statement
• Evidence of place of employment

Age Restrictions

Minimum rental age is 25 years for car groups Standard and Fullsize, 23 for car groups, compact and intermediate
21 years for car groups Mini and Economy.
A young drivers surcharge applies as follows:
21-22 years GBP 14.00 per day plus VAT, 23-24 years GBP 9.95 per day plus VAT. There is no maximum charge.
There is no upper age limit except at Pembroke, and Carmarthen where the age limit is 75 years. Plymouth, Exeter, Newquay Taunton, , Wigan, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich the upper age limit is 70 years. Wigan has a minimum age requirement of 25.

Credit Cards

When renting with a credit card, the renter's name must match the name on the card.

The signature on the back of the card must match the name imprinted on the card.

All charges are debited to the credit card at the time the vehicle is rented (rather than returned).

General Insurance Conditions

Collision Damage Waiver

An option, that if purchased at an additional charge per day or included in your reserved rate, eliminates responsibility for damage to or loss of an Alamo rental vehicle as long as terms of the rental agreement have not been violated.

Collision Damage Waiver is referred to as Damage Liability Waiver for rentals in the UK.

Collision Damage Waiver is NOT insurance.

It covers any damage to or loss of the rental vehicle.

Please note that minimum excess limit that CDW covers you for, may vary by country and vehicle type.

Please refer to the rental agreement, rental jacket and any underlying policies for complete terms and conditions.

Third Party Insurance (TPI)

Third Party Insurance is compulsory under UK law and is included in your rental charge. Our Third Party Insurance insures against unlimited liability for death or bodily injury, and for damage to other peoples property up to a limit of GBP 25m.

Theft Liability Waiver (TLW):

If purchased TLW will reduce liability in the event of theft of the vehicle from the full value of the vehicle down to the amount shown in the grid below. (overseas inbound only). Price of TLW is GBP 6.50 per day, inclusive of Tax @ 17.5%. NOTE: PURCHASE OF TLW DOES NOT WAIVE THE DAMAGE EXCESS. The maximum excess paid by the customer in the event of the vehicle being stolen is £650.

Mastercover

This cover reduces (or in some cases removes) the excesses applicable to some of the rental options. This optional cover is not available in all countries. Payment will be required on arrival. The cost will vary depending on destination. (In some countries may be referred to as Supercover) Mastercover Plus, (MCP) if purchased, reduces the excess to zero. MCP includes Windscreen and Tyres cover, Theft and replacement car. This product is only available in the UK.

Mastercover Plus (MCP):

If purchased reduces customers financial responsibility for losses or damage to the vehicle to zero. MCP includes Windscreen and Tyres cover, Theft and replacement car. The maximum cost per day for Mastercover Plus is £17.00 inclusive of tax.

Windscreen and Tyres (WTW):

If purchased reduces excess for any damage to Windscreen (and any other window glass) or Tyres to zero. Price of WTW is GBP 3.00 per day, Inclusive of Tax @ 17.5%.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI):

If purchased provides coverage for baggage and personal effects, medical expenses, personal accidents and emergency travel. Price GBP 5.95 per day, inclusive of Tax @ 17.5%.

Additional Drivers

The rental vehicle is normally only insured for the person who makes the rental. If others plan to drive the car, they must be present at time of rental to be added to the Rental Agreement , subject to presenting a full driver's licence that has been held for at least one year. Additional Driver's fee £6.37 per day.

Cross Border Policy

For rentals originating in the United Kingdom:-
Vehicles can be taken into mainland Europe; a daily charge applies together with a charge for European Roadside Assistance. This charge will be collected at time of rental. Under no circumstances may a vehicle be taken outside of the United Kingdom without permission. Vehicles can be taken into Ireland (North and South) from Britain without surcharge, however, a charge is imposed for International Roadside Assistance in the Republic of Ireland (South). All vehicles rented in the United Kingdom must be returned to the United Kingdom. Vehicles may not be driven into Eastern Europe.

For rentals originating within Europe driving to the following countries is permitted:-

• Andorra
• Austria
• Belgium
• Finland
• France
• Germany
• Greece
• Italy
• Liechtenstein
• Luxembourg
• Monaco
• The Netherlands
• Portugal
• Scandinavia
• Spain
• Switzerland
• United Kingdom
• Vehicles cannot be driven into Eastern Europe and Morocco.
• For rentals originating within the Caribbean:
• Vehicles can only be driven within each island only.

One Way rentals

One-way car rentals are permitted within Mainland UK but are subject to a variable drop charge. The drop charge is calculated dependant upon Pick up/Drop-off location and may vary by vehicle, this is payable at the rental counter. One-ways between Mainland U.K. and Northern Ireland are not permitted. One-ways are not permitted between the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
One-way rentals are permitted from any Northern Ireland location to the following locations in the Republic of Ireland and are subject to additional charges.

Additional equipment

Fuel

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and it is the customer's responsibility to return the vehicle full or pay for any missing fuel at the end of rental. On rentals of 5 days or longer we will automatically add the cost of a full tank of fuel to our rental charges at time of pick up. This method eliminates the need for you to refuel the tank prior to returning. The fuel amount charged at time of rental will be based on a market competitive price and the car model rented. We are unable to issue a refund for unused fuel. A fuel deposit will not be required for rentals of 5 days or longer. For rentals of 1 to 4 days a fuel purchase option is available. Ask for further details when picking up your vehicle.
