These terms and conditions are applicable to Green Motion rentals in the UK ONLY.
This quote will include:
- Unlimited mileage
- Basic insurance cover - all prices include collision damage waiver (CDW), theft protection (TP), UK value added tax (VAT), insurance for one driver with excess of £750.00 except group 2A, 2B & 3B where the excess is £1500. Excess reduction insurance can be purchased separately upon arrival
- Airport surcharges as notified
- All local taxes (VAT)
This quote will not include:
- Excess Reduction. Please see our Excess Reduction Guide for further details.
- Personal accident insurance (PAI)
- Additional non-mandatory insurances
- Additional Driver Surcharge £3.00 per driver per day
- Additional Young Driver Surcharge £13.00 per young driver per day
- Baby seat £7 per seat per day
- Booster seat £5 per seat per day
- GPS £6 per day
- Credit card surcharge 2%
- DVLA License check if required £8.00
- Fuel – while many of our cars are provided with fuel it is the responsibility of the hirer to return the car full – refuelling charges may apply
- Garaging, tolls, congestion charges, parking and traffic fines
- Out of hours charge is £30 per collection and/or return.
- Optional extras
All extra add-ons will attract additional percentage taxes (VAT) and surcharges.
Pricing
Pricing is quoted on a ‘per day’ basis (24 hour period).
All prices include collision damage waiver (CDW), theft protection (TP), UK value added tax with insurance covering the main driver (excess applicable).
Vehicle Group/Model
We are unable to guarantee a particular make/model or fuel type of vehicle. The vehicle shown on any of your documentation is for guidance only and may be substituted with an alternative, similar or upgraded vehicle (at no extra cost) at our discretion.
Mileage
Unlimited mileage.
Opening Hours – Downtown Locations
The standard opening hours for downtown locations are Monday – Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Saturdays 9.00am – 1.00pm and Sundays closed.
Opening Hours – Airport Locations
The standard opening hours for airport locations are Monday – Sunday inclusive 8.30am – 6.00pm. Heathrow and Gatwick are open 0700 to 1900 Monday to Friday and 0800 to 1800 Saturday and Sunday.
Opening Hours – Exclusions
Some local variations may apply. Please check with your local office.
Bank Holidays are treated as Sunday hours except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day which are closed except by special arrangement/out of hours fee.
Locations may be closed on public holidays (bank holidays). Please check at time of booking.
Minimum 5 day rentals at Manchester Airport and Luton Airport.
Minimum 3 day rentals at East Midlands Airport.
Flight Information
For airport collections it is essential that a correct flight number is provided at the time of booking. If not available it should be forwarded to the rental location as soon as possible after booking. If no flight number is provided the vehicle may only be kept available for 2 hours past the booking time and no responsibility can be accepted for a failed rental if no flight number was provided.
Excess
The standard excess is £750.00 with the exception of Groups 2A, 2B, 3B and minibuses. The excess for Groups 2A, 2B, 3B and minibuses is £1500.00.
Minimum Age
The minimum driver age for standard groups is 25 years with a minimum of two years driving experience. Drivers aged 21 to 24 can be insured for an additional £10 per day – maximum group G.
The minimum driver age for Groups 2A, 2B and minibuses is 35 years and a minimum of two years driving experience.
Driving Licence and Identification Requirements
A full UK driving licence or international equivalent is required. Exclusions may apply with regards to traffic violation or penalty points. Please enquire at time of booking. Faxed or photocopied licences are not acceptable.
The customer (main driver and any additional driver/s) must produce a valid, original copy of their driving licence including photo ID and counterpart. In addition the customer (main driver) must produce a valid credit card (in customer’s name and current address) for the payment of deposits, additional extras and risk reduction packages.
The customer (main driver and any additional driver/s) may also be required to provide secondary photographic identification (passport) and proof of address (utility bills).
Overseas customers (for those visiting the United Kingdom) will be required to provide details of their residency while in the UK.
Fines, Penalties and Administration Charges
It is the responsibility of each hirer to cover the cost of any parking fines and traffic violations including the London congestion charge. When fines or traffic violations occur and a Green Motion location is involved in administering the charge then an administration fee of £50 will be charged to the customer.
Deposit
All customers are required to secure the following deposits by credit card held in the main drivers name.
Standard Groups – Deposit of £750.00
Groups 2A, 2B, 3B and minibuses – Deposit of £1500.00
Cash deposits are not acceptable.
Additional Extras and Charges
Additional Driver - £3.00 per day
Young Driver - £10.00 per day
Additional Young Driver £13 per day
Baby Seat - £7.00 per day
Child Booster Seat - £5.00 per day
Satellite Navigation (GPS) - £6.00 per day
DVLA Licence Check - £8.00
Credit Card Surcharge 2%
Out of hours – downtown
The out of hours charge is £30.00 per collection and/or return.
Out of hours – airport
The out of hours charge is £30.00 per collection and/or return.
Extended hours – airport
In the event that a customer experiences flight delays the customer will not be charged an out of hours surcharge within two hours of the intended arrival time.
One Way Rentals
One way rentals are available between our London Gatwick and London Heathrow (and vice versa) at a cost of £50.00 per rental for hires under seven days. One way hires between Gatwick and Heathrow over seven days will be provided free of charge.
One way rentals are available between Leeds and Manchester airports at a cost of £25.00 per rental for all hires regardless of period of hire.
Rental Extensions
Should an extension of a rental be required, permission must be obtained from, and an additional payment made to, the local supplying branch. Please note that it may not always be possible for the hiring branch to extend the hire. Extensions will be charged at a net rate payable direct from client to Green Motion local office.
Overseas Use
Should the vehicle be required to be taken overseas (outside the UK mainland) the following additional charges, covering permissions and relevant additional insurance, will apply.
Standard rental + £65 surcharge + £15 per day
Permission must be sought from either Green Motion Central Reservations or directly from the supplying location prior to any overseas use. The location reserves the right to refuse overseas use.
Delivery and Collection
A delivery and collection service is available within normal opening hours. Charges for this service are as follows:
Radius within 10 miles of the supplying location - £15.00 each way
Radius within 20 miles of the supplying location - £20.00 each way
Radius of 20 miles or more – price on application
Please note that in the event of the delivery/collection service being required out of normal opening hours out of hours charges may apply.
Lost Keys
The supplier will charge if keys are lost or badly damaged. Please note that if a vehicle is stolen and keys are not returned to the rental supplier the insurance is deemed void. It is recommended that you take all rental tags off keys and place in the glove box until your return so as not to direct thieves to the exact details of your vehicle. Lost keys and the recovery of the vehicle if required are deemed as negligent and as such is not covered under the insurance or risk reduction packages.
Valeting
In the event that a vehicle is returned in an unclean condition (internally and externally) and requires more than our standard clean, a valeting charge of £60 will apply.
Smoking in a Green Motion car will result in a £60 valeting charge being applied.
Fuel Policy
Vehicles are supplied on a like for like basis. In the event that a vehicle is returned with less fuel than on supply a surcharge will apply based on the price of £1.66 per litre.
GENERAL
Roadside Assistance
24hours breakdown cover is included in our rates. Relevant contact details and roadside assistance procedures will be given prior to the commencement of the hire. Dependant on the circumstances we reserve the right not to provide a replacement vehicle.
Early Returns
In the event that a vehicle is returned early no refund will be due.
Rental Conditions
Please note that our rental terms and conditions outlined above are subject to change. All information provided is correct at the time of booking and the customer agrees to adhere to our conditions at the time of collection of the vehicle and for the duration of the rental.
Vehicle Condition
Vehicles must be returned to the location/drop off point in the same condition as when it was picked up/delivered. Normal wear and tear is acceptable however excessive staining/damage (internal and external) will be charged for at our valet rates (for cleaning) and at the prevailing rate for damage repair. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the vehicle is thoroughly checked prior to taking custody of the vehicle.
Complaints
All complaints should be made in writing within 30 days of the drop off date. Complaints received after this period will not be entertained.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of your reservation should be made in writing, fax or email at least 24 hours prior to the start of your rental. Please note that telephone cancellations will not be accepted.
Amendments
Reservation amendments must be requested in writing, fax or email at least 24 hours prior to the start of your rental. Please note that telephone amendments will not be accepted. All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions.
The customer acknowledges that in making a booking with Green Motion he/she does so only on the basis of the material contained in our brochure, voucher or on our website or information provided on the phone by its employees.
Green Motion Limited cannot accept liability for any charges incurred on documentation signed for and accepted locally.
Green Motion Limited will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs causing wilful damage, off road driving or driving without due care and attention. The customer will accept responsibility in respect of such claims. This list is not exclusive.
Insurance
When comprehensive insurance is taken out it is to provide the customer with entitlement to drive and covers the vehicle in the event of an accident. In the case where a customer is found negligent Green Motion Limited and its locations reserve the right to pursue the customer for the recovery of all losses incurred.
