Few towns in Britain can claim to be inhabited without a break since pre-Roman times, but the Royal Town of Caernarfon is just such a town. Caernarfon Castle is one of the most impressive castles in the whole world. It is located at the mouth side of the River Seiont. The Market Hall is one of the oldest buildings in Caernarfon, and it can be found on Hole In The Wall Street, or more commonly known as Stryd Twll Yn Wall. The building is also considered a landmark of the city.

Segontium is an old Roman fort, which can be found in the outskirts of Caernarfon. It was established somewhere around 77 AD. Today, only remnants of the fort can be seen here, and they are the living proof of the old civilization that populated the place.
