Kouklia was once known as 'Palaeopaphos' (Old Paphos) and is roughly 16.6 kms away from the actual city of Paphos on the popular Mediterranean island of Cyprus. The village is situated north of Limassol's central highway the A6 in Paphos's coastal area and is only about 8 kms from Paphos airport.
Kouklia, once an important centre of religious worship for many of the Mediterranean countries was known to be the mythical birthplace of the Greek goddess Aphrodite and today is an important archaeological region having been designated a UNESCO heritage site.
