Luneville is a commune in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in France. The town is famous for the Treaty of Luneville signed here on 9 February 1801 between the French Republic and the Austrian Empire. Luneville was a renowned resort in the 18th century, as well as the residence of the Duke of Lorraine. The town was also the home of painter Georges de la Tour for much of his career. Although it is small, the town of Luneville has many attractions in and around that are worth visiting.

Le Chateau de Luneville is located in Luneville and had belonged to the Dukes of Lorraine since the 13th century. The chateau was rebuilt as the Versailles of Lorraine by Duke Leopold from 1703 to 1723, from designs of Pierre Bourdict and Nicolas Dorbay and then of the architect Germain Boffrand. The princely apartments of the Chateau de Luneville are looked after by the Ministry of Defense while the structure is the responsibility of the Conseil General de Meurthe et Moselle. It is a wonderful place that must not be missed.

Ponte de la Craffe is located in Nancy, near Luneville. This is the oldest fortifications in Nancy, built in the 14th century and was subsequently used as a prison for many years. In the 17th century, another gate, called the Notre Dame Gate was built to further protect this entrance to the city. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more interesting information on the history of France.

Place Stanislas is also located in Nancy, near Luneville. The town square has a Stanislas statue pointing to the north and fountains and wrought iron gates in the two northern corners. It was built by Stanislas, Duke of Lorraine and former King of Poland, in the 18th century. The surrounding buildings are all in a single, classic style, adding to the grandeur of the square.

Parc de la Pepiniere is a beautiful park located in downtown Nancy, in the proximity of Luneville. It was once used a garden to grow trees for other parks areas in the region. Now, it is a pleasant and relaxing setting. There is a small zoo, a couple of bars and children's puppet theater.
