The Humanist Library in Selestat is renowned for putting on display one of the oldest and most homogeneous collections of medieval manuscripts and Renaissance books in Europe. The library is also considered to be one of the most important cultural treasured of the Alsace region, alongside the Strasbourg Cathedral and the Isenheim Altarpiece in Colmar.
