Foehren is a municipality in the Trier Saarburg district, in Rhineland Palatinate, Germany. Mainz Wineries are located near Foehren. It is called the capital of the German wine industry, being the home of the German Wine Institute. Varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Regent and St. Laurent can be tasted by tourists. Roscheider Hof Open Air Museum is located near Foehren, in the town of Konz. The museum is a venue for rural cultural history in northwest Rhineland Palatinate. There are many attractions in the Open Air Museum, such as folklore exhibitions ranging from winegrowing to dentistry, a tin figure, toy museum, a rose garden, a restaurant with ber garden, a large nature oriented children's playground and guided tours.

Fell Exhibition Slate Mine is a former slate mine in Germany located about 20 km east from Trier, near Foehren. The exhibition mine can be visited every day from April to October. The Exhibition Mine consists of two typical roof slate mines from the turn of the century, situated one above the other, a slate mining trail and small mining museum. Visitors can find a small documentation centre, Mine and Wime, which exhibits curious and rare slate mining and wine making tools.
