Lörrach is a German city in the Lörrach district, Freiburg administrative region, in the Baden Wurttemberg state of Germany. Lörrach is close to the borders with France and Switzerland, in the Wiese Valley. Its history begins in 1102 when it was first mentioned under the name of Lorracho. In 1403, Lörrach became a market town. In the second world war, the city was occupied by the French troops, but after it, all that was destroyed was reconstructed. In present, the city has almost 50,000 residents, living on an area of not even 40 square kilometers.
