Rosenheim is an independent city in the Upper Bavaria region of the Bavaria state of Germany. Rosenheim has an area of 37 square kilometers and a population of 60,000 residents. The city is the seat of Upper Bavaria. It is located along the Inn and Mangfall rivers, within the Bavarian Alpine Foreland. For the state of Bavaria, Rosenheim is a true hub of culture and economy. Near Rosenheim, you can visit the capital of the state, Munich, which is at 54 kilometers north-west of the city. The city is surrounded by six communities: Grosskarolinenfeld, Schechen, Kolbemoor, Stepanskirchen, Rohrdorf and Raubling. Rosenheim was settled by the Romans in 15 BC, being led by Drusus and Tiberius, who have chosen this place thanks to its location near the rivers.

Mittertor is one of the five city gates that Rosenheim used to have. This was built in the 14th century to make the connection between the places called today Max Joseph Platz and Ludwig Platz. In the 17th century, the gate was partially destroyed in a fire and later rebuilt as it can be seen today.

KU'KO is a multipurpose building located in the city center of Rosenheim. It has an exhibition space of more than 3,000 square meters and has two dozens of rooms. The largest hall of KU'KO can seat a little less than 1,600 people. This center hosts about 400 events of Rosenheim each year, so you just have to find out what is happening when you are in town.

The Inn Museum is also the home of the Rosenheim Water Management Office and is located near the Inn Bridge. This museum offers visitors a short history of hydraulic engineering. It also gives details concerning the existence of the Inn Shipping Company which made Rosenheim very prosperous in the Middle Ages.
