Wimbledon has been inhabited for a very long time, it was since at least the Iron Age when the hill fort on Wimbledon Common is thought to have been constructed. The original centre of Wimbledon was at the top of the hill close to the common, it is the area now known locally as "the village".  Wimbledon Village provides a good collection of bistros, restaurants and pubs and the newly reopened New Wimbledon Theatre on the Broadway is popular and has brought  in a large number of West End productions and of course there are lots of other good things you could do in Wimbledon. So you can easily go there and find out what you like the most out of all the enjoyable things you could do.  For most of the past one hundred years, Wimbledon has suprisingly been internationally known as the home of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.

There are no car rental depots direct in Wimbledon City Centre.  But Kingston is just next to Wimbledon and that is where you can get a great and quick deal on a rental car all it takes is for to book a Winbledon car en enjoy Wimbledon.  Hampton Court is just Southwest of Kingston as well.  Kingston is a 25 minute train ride on the overland train from Waterloo Station in downtown London.  If you follow the A2043 south it will connect you with the A3 which will take you out of London and give you access to the M25.
