Driving Directions: You can take a hire car from London to Dover. The driving time takes around one hour and 36 minutes. From Dover, take the ferry to reach Calais. It takes one hour and 15 minutes to get there. Upon arrival in Calais, take the route straight to Paris using the A26 and A1 road. The drive is no more than three hours.

However, additional equipment may be required for vehicles being taken out of the UK mainland to meet the legal requirements of the country visited such as France. The renter will be required by law to present form VE103B and an authorisation from Hertz which also includes a Driving Abroad Fee.
