Renter Requirements

All drivers must present a full valid driving license. If the driving license is written in a language and characters different to those of the country of rental, an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation. 

All renters must produce a valid photo ID such as driving license, passport or ID card. Visitors to Ireland must also provide proof of return travel and accommodation information while in Ireland.

Please note that we reserve the right to request additional ID or conduct further identification checks if needed which may include an identity check with an external organisation.

Age Requirements

Renters must have been eligible to hold a driving license for a minimum of 8 years. To rent Passenger and Cargo Vans renters must have held their license for a minimum of 11 years and for Premium vehicles 13 years.

Additional Driver

Additional drivers must meet all renter requirements. Additional drivers can be added to the rental agreement if they visit any rental location and present their driving licence. A daily surcharge will apply.

Additional driver charge is €9.99* per day (or €69.99* per week) for Enterprise Home City.

Additional driver charge is €11.90* per day (or €83.30* per week) for Enterprise Airport.

Forms of Payment

All major credit cards (issued by either Visa, Mastercard or American Express) are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter’s name. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. All vehicles require a deposit of €250.

Cash, checks, prepaid cards, Diners Club and Discover Card are not accepted.​

Debit cards such as Visa Electron, VPAY and Maestro, cash, checks, prepaid cards, Diners Club and Discover Card cards are not accepted.

​Renters who wish to use a debit card (issued by either Visa or Mastercard) must have residence in Ireland, hold an Irish driving license and provide proof of employment with a pay slip that must be less than 90 days old.​

For Enterprise Airport: Debit cards are not accepted at any time. A major credit (issued by either Visa, Mastercard or American Express) card is required.​

Additional Equipment

Baby/child seats and booster seats are available at Enterprise Home City and cost as follows: €​11.35​ per day or €​​60.15 per week (€67.21 maximum), and €9.08 per day ​or €45.40 per week (​€51.00 maximum)​. All charges are inclusive of VAT and PLF. ​

Baby/child seats and booster seats are available at Enterprise Airport and cost as follows: €​13.49​ per day or €​​71.57 per week (€79.98 maximum), and €10.80 per day ​or €54.00 per week (​€60.78 maximum)​. All charges are inclusive of VAT and PLF. ​

GPS units are available at a cost of €13.04 per day or €91.30 per week at Enterprise Home City and ​​€15.52 per day or €​108.63 per week at Enterprise Airport. All charges are inclusive of VAT and PLF. ​​

Additional equipment are on request and not available in all locations. ​

After Hours

Vehicles can typically only be rented and returned within the official opening hours. Please contact the local rental branch to enquire about possible after-hours rentals and returns.

Grace Period

One rental day is a complete or partial period of 24 consecutive hours from the start of the rental period. On return, a grace period of 29 minutes will be applied if the 24-hour period is exceeded before an extra day applies. Beyond this grace period, an additional day at the local rate will be charged.

Cross Border

The Cross Border fee is €170.25* ​​per rental at Enterprise Home City and €202.60*​ per rental at Enterprise Airport.​

Vehicles can be driven in Northern Ireland and UK mainland. Travels to Europe mainland are not permitted.

The local branch requires a 48-hour notice period to arrange cross border travel. The notice period refers to two full business days between Monday and Friday.

Customers must always inform the rental branch of their intention to leave the country with the vehicle and require authorisation. Additional charges apply except for travels to Northern Ireland.

Damage Waiver (DW)

​Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces the deductible in the event of damage or theft of the vehicle, when no responsible third party is identified. If CDW is not included in the reservation, it is available for purchase at the rental counter.

Before purchasing CDW it is advised to determine, if a personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees.

If CDW is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges and seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. CDW is not insurance.

Excess Protection (EP)

Excess Protection (EP) is an optional coverage that reduces the applicable deductible. If EP is not included in the reservation, it is available for purchase at the rental counter. Before purchasing EP it is advised to determine, if a personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. If EP is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges and seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. EP is not insurance.

Debit Card Policy

Debit cards, cash, cheques, prepaid currency, Diners Club, Discover and Maestro cards are not accepted. Renters who wish to use a debit card must hold an Irish driving license and must produce a pay slip that must be less than three months old.

Delivery and Collection

Please contact the local rental branch to enquire about delivery and collection. Additional charges will apply.

Excess Protection

​Excess Protection (EP) is an optional coverage that reduces the applicable deductible. If EP is not included in the reservation, it is available for purchase at the rental counter. Refueling

​Renters must return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at the time of pick up. If the vehicle is not returned with the same level of fuel the renter will be charged a refuelling service charge based upon the fuel used.

The renter may choose to prepay for the refuelling service charge at the time of vehicle collection. Please contact the local branch for details.

Insurance Policy

A-E VEHICLES CARRY AN EXCESS OF 1600 EUROS, WHICH CAN BE REDUCED TO 100 EUROS. FOR F CLASS, MPVS AND VANS THE EXCESS IS 1750 EUROS, WHICH MAY BE REDUCED TO 250 EUROS.

FOR SMALL PREMIUMS THE EXCESS IS 2000 EUROS, WHICH MAY BE REDUCED TO 500 EUROS. WHERE DW IS NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR RATE, IT CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE BRANCH WITH AN EXCESS OF 1750 EUROS, WHICH CAN BE REDUCED TO 250 EUROS.

Mileage Policy

Mileage- all vehicles include unlimited mileage

Miscellaneous Policy

Vat- the vat charge on vans and rentals lasting more than 35 days will be 23 percent.

Exclusive Rates

Total charges include unlimited mileage, third party liability, road fund license and VAT. Damage waiver is not included and must be taken unless alternative coverage can be verified at the time of rental. Additional protection products may be purchased.

Inclusive Rates

Total charges include unlimited mileage, damage waiver with an excess including theft protection, third party liability, road fund license, and VAT. Additional protection products are available. Mileage restriction may apply. Additional surcharges may apply.

Super Inclusive Rates

Total charges include damage waiver, excess protection with zero excess including theft protection, third party liability, road fund license, and VAT. Additional protection products are available. Mileage restriction may apply. Additional surcharges may apply.

Maximum Length of Rental

There is no maximum length of rental, however the customer will have to go to a local branch every 28 days to have the condition of the vehicle checked.

One Way Rentals

All rentals where the vehicle is not returned to the same location as it is collected will be subject to a one-way fee of up to €150.

One way rentals from Dublin airport to Belfast airport are subject to a charge of €175.

One way rentals are only allowed within mainland Ireland only.

Roadside Assistance

Emergency contact details for 24 hour roadside assistance can be found on the rental contract. Dependant on the circumstances, we reserve the right to not replace the vehicle and pass on specific repair/callout charges to the customer.

Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP)

​Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) is an optional 24-hour emergency service including tyre and glass repair or replacement costs except when part of a larger repair, replacement keys costs and all recovery and call out charges as result of a fault caused by the renter.

RAP does not apply if there is a breach of the rental agreement or if a wrong fuel type is used. The renter pays a flat-rate fee that covers all roadside assistance services. Before purchasing RAP, it is advised to determine if a personal coverage is adequate to cover these charges. If RAP is declined, the renter will be required to pay any applicable charges and seek compensation from the carrier of personal coverage. RAP is not insurance.
