Arras is located in northern France conveniently linked to Paris and Lille by the A1 autoroute and with Calais and Reims by the A26. Known as Atrebatum by the Romans the town later flourished as a grain market and after the grant of a commercial charter by the French Crown in 1180 in banking and trade. Due to its wealth Arras was a site of conflict over possession until it was returned to France in 1654. Today Arras is well known for its tapestries, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, historical sites, memorial and botanical gardens.

Arras is beautiful city located in northern France. The capital of the Pas-de-Calais department, Arras is situated on Scarpe river, which offers a special charm to the whole area. Arras has a surface of 4.49 square miles and a population of more than 48,000 residents, according to the 2007 census. Arras has an interesting history, being the site of numerous battles. With an impressive cultural heritage and many sights of interest, Arras is a wonderful place to visit in this area of France. The city is well known for its beautiful center, in which there are located two main squares, the Grande Place and the Place des Heros.

The Jardin Boranique Floralpina is a botanical garden located in Arras. Numerous alpine plants can be admired in this spot, collections including over 4,100 plants, representing more than 3,700 species. The venue first opened in 1953, being established by Jean-Michel Spas. The spot is great to visit, mostly by tourists who are traveling with children.

Musee de Beaux-Arts is a must see in Arras. Beautiful and quite impressive collections can be seen in this spot. Located in the former Benedictine abbey of Saine-Vaast, the museum hosts a collection of great medieval sculptures. Paintings, but also porcelain works from the 17th to the 19th centuries can be admired here, too. An archeology exhibit is displayed in the venue.

The Christmas Market is one of the most important events to be hosted by the beautiful city of Arras. The festival takes place every year between November and December. More than 60 exhibitors from all around the country bring great collections of arts and crafts during the market's days. Cooking lessons and many other entertainment options are offered to visitors.
