Beaune Food Markets. There are five major fine food markets each Saturday, where there are a large number of stall holders supplying a broad selection of products and specialities from Burgundy and the surrounding regions. For instance, Bresse chickens, Jura cheeses, small goods, spices, seasonal specialities, such as truffles.

Hospices de Beaune is a masterpiece of huge historical significance for the region. The place has furniture of medieval style. The hospital of Beaune was regarded as a palace for the poor, because of its decoration but especially because the patients were not more than two per bed in a time when three or four patients was frequent. The beams are painted and there are dragons that connect these beams.

Notre Dame de Beaune is a wonderful church, that offers its visitors a wonderful view of the city from the tower. The church was built in the 12th century and it is one of the last Roman churches to be built in France. Inside the Church, there are many frescoes, statues, famous tapestries that recall the life of Virgin Mary. It is a place that must not be missed if in the area.

Marche aux Vins is the place in Beaune, where you can taste a plethora of wines and eventually buy a bottle to take home. The wines are from all over the department of Burgundy. It is a fun experience.
