The Fontaine des Elephants or Elephants Fountain is the most important and nice attraction in Chambery. The fountain is a landmark, built in 1838 and was dedicated to Benoit de Boigne. The fountain has incredible and nice sculptures, as well as four lifesize elephants placed into a tall, beautiful column and are topped by a wonderful statue of de Boigne. It is interesting that this attraction in Chambery was mocked by the locals, but today, this problem does not exist anymore. Nonetheless, the attraction is nicknamed "the four without arses".
