Cathedrale de la Resurrection d'Evry is a Roman Catholic church belonging to the Diocese of Corbeil. The building of it started in 1992 and the works continued until 1995. It was dedicated to Saint Corbinian in the Easter Day of 1996. The Swiss architect Mario Botta designed it as the only purpose-built cathedral in the country. Unlike other Roman Catholic churches, this one is hard to recognize as a church from its exterior.
Grand Mosque of Evry is the largest mosque in France and the third largest in all Europe. It was built from 1985 to 1991 and has a capacity of 5,000. The money collect began in the early 1980s to make sure there will be enough funds to raise it. Even so, it was only officially opened in 1995.
