St. Denis is a beautiful French town located in the Plaine Commune intercommunality, St. Denis arrondissement, Seine St. Denis department, in the Ile de France region. St. Denis has a population of about 106,000 residents. The locals live on an area of 12 square kilometers, at about 10 kilometers away of the center of Paris. Thanks to its closeness to the lovely French capital, St. Denis is considered to be one of its suburbs. The city is documentary attested since the 3rd century, when the settlement was called Catcolacus and Catculliacum, these words meaning "estate of Catullius". Catullius was a Roman landowner living in the area. In approximately 250, Saint Denis was martyred and buried in the area. As the settlement became an important pilgrimage center, it was soon renamed St. Denis. If you plan visiting it, make sure to stop at the most important attractions in the area.

Cathedrale Royale de St. Denis or Basilique St. Denis is a large church located in the city center. It was built in the 7th century on a former smaller church and cemetery where Christians and non-Christians living in the area were buried. The name of the church is the same with the name of the city and is given in the honor of the saint who apparently was the first bishop of Paris.

Stade de France is one of the biggest stadiums built in the country. You can visit it at Zac du Cornillon Nord, in St. Denis. The construction started on May 2, 1995 and the grand opening was on January 28, 1998. The whole cost of the stadium was of approximately 290 million euros.

Le Mets du Roi is a French restaurant located at 4 Rue Boulangerie. The design of it is stylish and elegant and the service is excellent. The menu is very rich and varied and most of the dishes are based on fresh local products of St. Denis.
