Abbaye de Sainte Croix was raised in town on the remains of a former church built by Saint Helena. That was constructed in St. Lo in the 4th century and demolished later. In the 12th century, this church was raised and was finally consecrated in the early years of the 13th century.

Tour des Beaux Regards or Tower of the Beautiful Glances is a relic of the old citadel of the town. This is a remain of the walls that existed in the Middle Ages to protect St. Lo. In present, this tower is one of the most important attractions of the city, drawing thousands of curious tourists each year.
