Vendome is a beautiful commune in France, located more exactly within the Centre region, in the Loir-et-Cher department, being a sub-prefecture of the department and the capital of the Vendome arrondissement at the same time. The history of Vendome goes back to the Gallic times, when it appears to have been an oppidum and then a feudal castle. Now, Vendome is a charming place where anyone can have a good time. The church features a free-standing tower in front of it, fine stained glass, and choir-stalls dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries.
The Castle of the Counts of Vendome, or better said the ruins of the castle, was founded in the 9th century. The number of towers and remains of the walls still surviving today overlook Vendome and provide spectacular views of the city and the surrounding area.
