Vendome is a beautiful commune in France, located more exactly within the Centre region, in the Loir-et-Cher department, being a sub-prefecture of the department and the capital of the Vendome arrondissement at the same time. The history of Vendome goes back to the Gallic times, when it appears to have been an oppidum and then a feudal castle. Now, Vendome is a charming place where anyone can have a good time. According to the 1999 census, Vendome has a total population of 17,707 residents and spans on a total area of 9.22 square miles (23.89 sq km).

The Place St-Martin is the central feature of Vendome and the place that hosts numerous historic monuments and buildings. The place is home to the Tour St-Martin, which was built in the 15th century and represents the vanished church with the same name. Eglise La Trinite (the Church of the Holy Trinity) is another impressive religious site in Vendome. The church features a free-standing tower in front of it, fine stained glass, and choir-stalls dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries.

The Castle of the Counts of Vendome, or better said the ruins of the castle, was founded in the 9th century. The number of towers and remains of the walls still surviving today overlook Vendome and provide spectacular views of the city and the surrounding area.
