Celle is a beautiful town located in Lower Saxony, Germany. Celle is situated on the banks of River Aller, at less than 16 miles distance from Hanover. The city has an area of 67.96 square miles and a population of more than 70,200 inhabitants, as the 2010 census indicated. The Celle Castle is one of the most famous buildings in the German town. Since the first construction of this historical site, before the year 1000, till today, numerous changes have been made to its initial architecture. Today, the castle has numerous rooms, built during different periods, in different styles. For instance, some baroque style rooms were created in the castle during the times of George William. In the court of the castle you will also be able to visit the Theater Celle, one of the oldest and best preserved theaters in the area, but also the Castle Park.

The Schlosstheater Celle is the oldest theater in Germany which is still functional, being built in 1674. Actually, this is the oldest baroque theater in Europe. Visiting this spot or attending an event here will surely be a one of a kind experience for all visitors.

The Bomann Museum is one of the most important historical and art museums in the area. Here you will be able to visit great works by Eberhard Schlotter, but also local folklore and town history exhibitions. A Tansey collection can also be seen in this spot, being the largest collection of portrait miniatures in the country.
