Ebersberg is the district seat of the similarly named Landkreis in the southern part of Germany. The Ebersberg Forest is one of the largest continuous area of woodlands in Germany. The history of Ebersberg is closely tied with the nearby Benedictine monastery founded in 934 by the Counts of Sempt. In 1954, Ebersberg was raised to the status of a town. Ebersberg is the only German town that has named a street after a cabaret group, Valtortagasse. Ebersberg is a charming town, which provides a wide range of cultural and historic landmarks, as well as many accommodations and venues.

St. Sebastian Pilgrimage Church in Ebersberg is a wonderful church. The western portion dates from 1230, the nave and the choir originate in the 15th century. From 1770 to 1783 it was remodelled in rococo style. The tomb made of red Salzburg marble at the entrance to the middle nave was made in 1500 by Wolfgang Leb. Among other sights within the Church are St. Sebastian's Chapel with its baroque stucco work and St. Sebastian's reliquary.

The Town Hall in Ebersberg is another wonderful landmark of the city. One particular aspect that makes the Town Hall special is the fact that it is housed in what was once the monastery tavern. It is a great place to visit.

The Bavarian National Museum is one of the most interesting museums in Munich, near Ebersberg. The Museum is home to 12.000 sqm of items that pertain to art, culture and history, and are of European importance. The museum also holds an extensive collection of local crafts from the beginning. The museum is a wonderful place to get a glimpse of German history and culture.

Church of Saint Johann Nepomuk is a church in Munich, near Ebersberg. The church was built from 1733 to 1746 by the brothers Egid Quirin Asaqm and Cosmas Asam as their private church. Due to resistance of the citizens, the brothers were forced to make the church accessible to the public.
