Flensburg Old Town has many things to see from centuries gone by. The main characteristic is the row along the waterfront. Three of the four old town cores are found along this north south axis. Kirche St Nikolai is a wonderful church in Flensburg. It is a very old church, built in a Gothic architectural style, dating back to the 1390s. Although old, it is really lovely inside. The aisles of the church are separated from the central block by six pairs of powerful round brick pillars that directs the view towards the altar.

Nordertor in Flensburg is a wonderful gate that dates back to 1345. The city gate was built on the northern site. The exact date of construction is not known, but it varies between 1595 and 1596. It was built as Kontrollor for incoming travellers. The gate is made of red brick and stepped gables.
