Sigmaringen is a charming town in the Sigmaringen district, Tubingen administrative region, Baden Wurttemberg state of Germany. According to a new study, Sigmaringen has a population of 16,000 residents and an area of 93 square kilometers. Located in the Danube Valley, near the Lake of Constance, Sigmaringen is surrounded by a breath-taking natural area. Near the city you can also visit Winterligen, Bingen, Beuron and Mengen. Sigmaringen is documentary attested since 1077 and was a property of the principality of Hohenzollern Sigmaringen until 1950 when it became a province of Prussia. Notable past residents of Sigmaringen include Roman Catholic martyr Saint Fidelis, former king of Romania, Ferdinand and the founder of Miller Brewing Company, Frederick Miller. Schloss Sigmaringen is a castle which was the property of the Hohenzollern Sigmaringen family. It dominates the skyline of the city. In 1893, it was partially rebuilt after a fire destroyed the building that existed from the Middle Ages. The castle is located at about 35 meters above the Danube and it has about 200 meters in length.

Upper Danube Nature Park is a natural area in the Baden Wurttemberg state of Germany. It is protected by the law and encompasses a territory of about 1360 square kilometers. It was founded in 1980 and it is only partially located in Sigmaringen, the rest of it being in a nearby city named Tuttlingen.
