Ueberlingen is a lovely city in the Bodenseekreis district, Tubingen administrative region, Baden Wurttemberg state of Germany. In present, a study shows that Ueberlingen has an area of 59 square kilometers and a population of 22,000 residents. Located in the north of Bodensee, also known as Lake Constance, Ueberlingen is the second largest city in the Bodenseekreis area. If you want to visit Ueberlingen there are plenty of attractions that you need to see, but it is recommended if you are in the area to stop also to Constance, Munich and Friedrichshafen or even in Zurich, which is only 100 kilometers away although it is in Switzerland.

Fasnet is a carnival held each year in the city of Ueberlingen. This event has its roots in a Swabian Alemannic tradition. It is organized by three clubs in town: Vierbund, Elzach, Oberndorf and Rottweil and is based on the stories of a few fictional characters of Ueberlingen that were created in the 14th century.

Christmas Market is one of the most beautiful fairs of Ueberlingen. It begins in the city on December 6 and includes the celebration of St. Nikolaus, too, as he is the patron of the city. The festivities which open the fair include a procession through the city center and a mass held especially for the children of the town.

Munster St. Nikolaus is the landmark of Ueberlingen. This is the biggest Gothic building in the area and its altar was carved in the latest part of the Renaissance. Inside of the church you can also see a statue of Maria and in front of it there is a cannonball which was fired in the city years ago.

Chapel St. Michael is located outside Ueberlingen, but it is very important in the history of the town. It was built in 1000 and it was used as a parish church for a long period of time. In 1634 it was severely damaged by a siege, but it was restored later.
