Plaza Na Violant

This plaza is located on the back side of the adjacent church. There are two long walls of storyboard ceramics, that eloquently tell the history leading to Castellon of today. There are portraits of past royalty, shwoing the crowns merging and the coats of arms of the families.

Plaza Santa Clara

The heart of the city was focused on the markets in the old quarter. Originally, the Castellon plaza had lots of local products. One of the main commodities was hemp and fabrics. The Plaza Santa Clara was the original site of a convent by the same namesake which was also the first hospital in the city. This plaza in Castellon serves as a meeting place for much of the social gatherings.

Castellon Sculptures

All around Castellon there are weird sculptures that have found their way into the small residential plazas. There are no placards or signs explaining the sculptures, but they have become a part of the city's charm.

Cathedral of Castellon

The cathedral of Castellon was initially constructed as a Gothic church towards the end of the 13th century. After a fire burnt down the whole structure, the church was rebuilt in the 15th century and the works ended in 1549. This is a building that has survived many chapters of history and well worth visiting.
