Schwelm is a beautiful town located in Ennepe Ruhr-Kreis, Germany. Schwelm has an area of 7.9 square miles and a population of more than 28,600 residents, the 2010 census indicated. Schwelm was first mentioned in historical documents in the 9th century. However, the city was only officially established in 1496. In 1929, Schwelm also became the seat of the Ennepe-Ruhr district. The Christuskirche is one of the most beautiful historical and religious sites in Schwelm. The church has first been built in 1085, but in 1739 the venue was much destroyed by a fire. A new church was built on the spot between 1842 and 1849, having a capacity of around 2500 people. Once again, this church has been under a restoration process in 1952, following the damage produced to its structure during World War II.

The Former Synagogue remnants can still be seen in Schwelm today. The building dates back to 1819, but was destroyed in 1938, along with numerous other Jewish religious sites. The foundation and the door of this historical spot are still preserved in the area.

Eisenwerkschanke is a German restaurant, located in Schwelm. The steakhouse is much appreciated in the area, being one of the best place to eat in during your staying in the German town.
