Fidenza is a town and charming commune in the province of Parma, Italy. According to the 2011 census, Fidenza has a population of 24.000 inhabitants. The town was renamed Fidenza in 1927, recalling its Roman name of Fidentia. Before, it was called Borgo San Donnino. Fidenza originates from a Roman camp, founded on the place where the Gauls Anani had their settlement of Vicumvia. Under the Fascist Government, Fidenza underwent a major program of expansion. Today, Fidenza is a great holiday destination, where tourists can visit many attractions and taste the local specialities.

Fidenza Cathedral is one of the most famous landmarks in town. The cathedral is an example of Lombard-Romanesque churches of the 11th to 13th centuries in Northern Italy. With its three portals and sculptures, the Cathedral is fine example of Romanesque architecture, including two statures by Benedetto Antelami. The interior is simple and well-proportioned and has not been spoilt by restoration.

The Palazzo Comunale is another beautiful landmark of Fidenza. This medieval castle was first mentioned in 1191. The current structure that tourists can see, dates back to the 14th century, while the façade was rebuilt in the 19th century. After being destroyed by Spanish and French troops during the Italian wars, the Palace was rebuilt and enlarged.
