The history of the town of Feltre dates back to the Roman times, when Pliny assigned the foundation of it to the Rhaetians, an Alpine tribe. The Church and the Monastery of Santa Maria degli Angeli is a religious monument of Feltre. The initial construction dates back to 1492. However, reconstructions and renovations only took place in the 19th century. These have maintained the beauty of the ancient cloister and the famous paintings of Italian artist Jacopo Bassano.
