The history of the town of Feltre dates back to the Roman times, when Pliny assigned the foundation of it to the Rhaetians, an Alpine tribe. However, reconstructions and renovations only took place in the 19th century. These have maintained the beauty of the ancient cloister and the famous paintings of Italian artist Jacopo Bassano.
