Fossano is a beautiful city located in Piedmont, in Italy, in the province of Cuneo. Fossano is the fourth largest town of the Provence and it has become an attraction for many tourists. Fossano appeared as a commune in 1236, founded by a Guelph league of cities, but in 1251 had to yield to Asti. The name Fossano could be transformation of the name locus or fundus faucianus, from the Roman first name Faucius, or derive from the word fossato, which means ditch. The ditches are in fact the main features of the hill on which the first city village rose. Even though it is smaller than Rome or Naples, Fossano is still a great holiday destination, with a lot of wonderful things to see and do.
